A nice rest place after getting all the way down from the top of the hiking trail, it is almost the bottom of Grand Canyon Valley. It is 3rd rest stop with outhouse and 4.5 miles from the top of Bright Angle hiking trail. It is nice to go down but harder to go back up. We hiked in December and refill station at every outhouse (one in every 1.5 miles); however, water was turned off at around 1pm 😳. So be prepared to have enough water to go back up because it is harder to go back up.

Best trip of my life so far! Such a wonderful experience!Campground was beautiful! Was greeted with some mule deer in the morning to put the cherry on the top of this amazing place! There are no words to describe the night sky and stars. I felt like I could reach out and touch them! Wanted to camp in an undeveloped part…remember if you camp here you need a permit!

To be clear, this is a campground, no rooms, no service, but a great location. We stayed in the group site, it accommodated 10 easily. Multiple trees (trees!) provided shade and an incredible counterpoint to the surrounding high desert. This campground is a lush oasis compared to the other primitive campgrounds we stayed at on previous nights, and they were beautiful in their own light. There was much more foot traffic here and construction contractors were staging operations including helicopter landings.

Spent two nights at Indian Garden January 2021. The campground was well maintained, clean including the restrooms. Weather was posted on the central kiosk, with hand written correction for forecasted low temps. I spoke briefly with a few rangers and they were all helpful and friendly as well as on the ball with what was going on in and around the area. The campsites each have a covered picnic table, spots to hang gear, critter boxes to store your food and ample room for tents. Keep in mind the there are no fire rings as fires are prohibited and you must have a permit to camp in the Canyon. There was a group that showed up without doing any research and turned around and went back up to the rim (that's a 10 mile round trip with 3000' of elevation change each way) because they didn't want to pay for the permit when they arrived. All in all it was a great campground, I recommend it and would use it again.

Great place to stop for a rest on the rim to river hike (especially if you're on your way back up, you'll be happy to take a break). There was water here to drink, plenty of spots to sit and relax, and if camping is your thing, the ability to sleep under some of the most beautiful rock formations on the planet.
