The campsites are nice and well maintained, but there are no services available at this campground. Drinking water faucets are located throughout the campground; however, RV water tank filling is not permitted. Signs at the faucets state that a 10-cent fee will be charged for every gallon of water that leaves the park. There is also no RV dump station, so plan accordingly. The lake was extremely low during our visit, and the water was brown in color. I'm not sure why the lake is such a draw for people in its current condition. My biggest disappointment was that, despite being located in a National Forest, the concessionaire, Recreation Resource Management of Arizona, does not honor the America the Beautiful Lifetime Military or Gold Star passes. They only accept the Senior and Access passes. In my opinion, if they honor some America the Beautiful passes, they should honor them all. The check-in experience also left a lot to be desired. Even though we had an online reservation, the process was very slow. When I presented my Lifetime Military Pass, the employee bluntly told me, "That pass does nothing here." While the policy may be out of the employee's control, a more professional response would have been, "I'm sorry, but we don't accept that pass at this campground." A little courtesy goes a long way.

Amazing experience, easy to find, clean restrooms and campsites. The host we're friendly and would do constant drive bys to see if everyone was good. Loved that bathrooms were close by, close enough to town that it was easy to go get anything we needed. Only downsides was you can hear the highway at night, and there is no swimming. 10/10 would recommend and would love to come back.

For a forest service campground, this is a really nice spot! The sites are paved, spacious, and not close to your neighbors - which is wonderful! This campground is pretty expensive for forest service campground though - $32/night and there isn't even a dump station available onsite. The lake is pretty much nonexistent right now and what water does exist is super muddy - which is to be expected considering the dry winter, but still disappointing for the price.

RV camping , no hookups. Very quiet even with kids around. Drive to Tusayan and bike the paved trail into the South Rim!! Great trail through the trees. Highly recommend, yes I had an e bike, husband did not.

Lake was super low, campground was great. We loved that there were water stations. Typical outhouse type bathroom and pretty clean, but someone pooped all over the toilet on our 1st night there and it wasn't properly cleaned. We stayed 3 nights and it was never cleaned. Talk about disappointing 🤮
