Really not worth it. This is one of the campgrounds that STILL allows people to run their junkeratirs all day long. Yup, ALL DAY! What a peace ruining experience for the trailer next to you to start up the jerkorator and leave for the whole day to town. This place needs to catch up with the time!!! Theres one place out of all the campground loops in this HUGE place to get your drinking water and dump trash. Sure would have been nice to know before I chose my spot and set up camp. Unless you are in the "special" group area do yourself a favor and get your water first or plan on walking a mile for it. It is literally .6 miles from the upper loops to it. Each regular loop has a host. Of course they have water for them right by their trailer. And power. Frizz the rest of us paying people. And speaking of pay, if you are first come first serve, you better do that first too. Theres no pay box in each loop. Hoof it all the way back to the entrance for that too. Thats closer to a mile from up top. The FS for whatever rediculous reason Xs out (blocks) 3 days in reservations. So you cant reserve except 3 days ahead. No cake for you unless you show up and happen to get lucky (or unlucky) and get a FF site. Makes no sense at all. That's a HUGE loss for them. Many of we travelers make last minute reservations. And lastly, in this FEDERAL campground, where smoking is only permitted inside your car or trailer, the host in the First Come loop is running around with a nasty lit cigarette hanging out of her face. So gross!! The trees are beautiful, you can get lost in these lovely firests, but when your stay is buggered by so much other stuff, better off staying right in the park or the WONDERFUL Camper Village in the town of Tusayan. Not much more difference in price, but they are created to be comfortable so you can ENJOY your time instead of getting frustrated with foo.

Ten-x campground is a great place to stay. If you make reservations, it's very well maintained and it's reserved for you. There are on-site hosts to help you with your camp spot if necessary and any problems that arise. There are a couple good loops that you can choose from and it is well maintained. I would recommend this. I am a local to Arizona and I stay here during the summer yearly multiple times. It's really close to the Grand canyon with great access to all things Grand canyon. You do not need to bring wood. You can just go around and collect any wood from falling trees that are within the campsite and you can burn them in the pits. It's generally very quiet and everybody is respectful. There are group spots available but you need to reserve them in advance. If you find this review helpful, please thumbs up.

Very nice campground outside of the Grand Canyon National Park. Attended my grandson's wedding at group campground A. Very nice all said.

This is a national forestry campground. It is extremely well maintained. They have campground hosts for each loop so you do not have to track down the host if you need assistance. All of the hosts I spoke with were professional, friendly, helpful and all around amazing. Many of the sites are not very level so you have to choose wisely. The only loop open year round is loop E, which is first come, first serve.

The Tusayan-Montane Campground is just South of Tusayan and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Reservations are via recreation.gov and there are first come first serve sights. We camped near the end of June and the campground had many open sites in the FCFS section. Facilities are limited, drinking water, trash dumpsters and pit toilets. However, the campground itself is clean and the sites are very spaced out. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. We stayed in a pull through site, large enough for our truck and trailer with room to spare. The sizes of the sites are accurate on recreation.gov. The camp hosts were really friendly and came through a few times a day to check the toilets and make sure things were going smoothly. Availability - excellent first come first serve and reservations. Ambience - excellent with a lot of space, nature trails and trees and wildlife. Limitations - RV water and dump station at Mather Campground inside the park. No shuttle stop for Grand Canyon. No other services.
