Corner Café

A no-frills Flagstaff tavern where the turkey melt has a following

(146)
$$$$Flagstaff, AZ

About

Corner Café shares space with Timberline Tavern along US-89 on Flagstaff's east side, and regulars will tell you the two have essentially merged into one easygoing operation. It's a low-key, order-at-the-bar kind of place — the sort of spot locals land on when they want a decent plate without the downtown crowds, and reviewers consistently point to the food quality as the reason to come back.

What to expect

The menu leans toward classic tavern fare — sandwiches, a meatloaf plate, bar snacks like pretzels — with the Arizona Turkey Melt called out by name in reviews as a standout, best ordered with a side of ranch. Service gets consistent praise for being attentive without hovering, and more than one visitor has mentioned the staff by name after a good conversation at the bar. It runs as a genuine dive-bar atmosphere, welcoming to kids despite the setting, with reasonably priced drinks.

  • Hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 11 AM–9 PM; closed Sunday and Monday
  • Rating: 4.5 stars from 146 Google reviews
  • Price: budget-friendly ($)

Worth noting: a couple of reviewers mention the interior can run a little chilly, so a light layer isn't a bad idea. It's not a destination restaurant, but as a reliable, inexpensive stop in Flagstaff, it earns its loyal following.

Their wait staff is always good, and the menu offers pretty decent quality and a reasonably wide assortment of staples. It can be a little chilly in there sometimes, so bring a light jacket or sweater "just in case." Again, their wait staff is non- intrusive but yet available and eager to please.

Cafe is actually closed. You have to eat in the bar. Got the meatloaf, it was OK, but not really to my liking. Has chilies in it, so if you like spicy, you might like it. Potato salad was terrible! Service was excellent! Usual bar atmosphere.

We ate on the tavern side. It looks like they've combined the corner Cafe with the tavern. There was only one worker who was doing the bar and serving the food but she was excellent. The food was very fresh and tasty.
