About

El Corral on 66 is a small, brick-and-wood cafe on Route 66 in downtown Williams, turning out Mexican staples and American diner classics in a rustic setting that fits right into the town's neon-and-history vibe. With a 4.3 rating from over 1,450 Google reviews, it's built a loyal following among road-trippers making the stop between Flagstaff and the South Rim.

What to expect

Reviewers consistently point to generous portions and genuinely made-from-scratch Mexican food — tacos, fajitas, and seafood alongside breakfast standards. Regulars single out the breakfast burrito (described as too big to finish in one sitting) and the country fried steak, plus a chunky, made-in-house salsa. The restaurant also stocks Mexican Coke, a small detail a few reviewers specifically called out. Service gets repeated praise as friendly and welcoming, and the space is kept clean and tidy.

  • Location: 320 W Route 66, Williams — walkable from the historic downtown strip
  • Hours: open daily, 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Price range: $$ — casual, moderate

It's a solid pick for breakfast or a hearty lunch/dinner before or after the Grand Canyon Railway, with the kind of unpretentious, Route 66 character that makes Williams worth lingering in.

One of the most mundane and flavorless Mexican places I’ve eaten at. Like a caricature of Mexican food. Iced tea was sour, meaning they’d had so few customers that day (6pm) that they hadn’t yet needed to brew fresh tea. Guacamole was turnt and acidic, not fresh. Nacho cheese was plastic yellow cheese from a can. Salsa had no discernible taste. Lastly my chicken fajitas, the highlight of the meal, were “ok”. Nothing special, no sizzling platter, limited taste profile. If you are looking for bland food made with ingredients from Sysco thrown together without any soul, this is the place for you.

This restaurant is good I ordered a torta with fries the steak version it had meat, beans, lettuce, tomato, guacamole it is so good I coming back again 5/5 and I am on vacation
