Casual burgers and BBQ a few blocks off Route 66
Family Dinner is a casual American spot on 3rd Street in downtown Williams, a couple blocks off the Route 66 strip, serving up comfort-food classics like burgers, BBQ plates, and loaded nachos. It's the kind of place locals and Grand Canyon Railway passengers alike duck into after a long day of sightseeing, especially when there's live music going on the patio.
Reviewers point to the smoked burgers and BBQ sampler as the draw, along with a rotating soup of the day (meatball has gotten a shoutout) and an outdoor seating area that gets lively with music some evenings. Service pace can vary — several diners mention things get slow when it's busy — and the kitchen leans more toward casual comfort food than fine dining, so set expectations accordingly. With a 3.4-star rating from 40 Google reviews, experiences here run a fairly wide range, from "best food we had all trip" to more lukewarm takes on flavor and consistency.
Worth a stop for an easygoing meal in Williams if you're not chasing a polished dining experience — just know it's a mixed bag depending on the night.

Service and atmosphere is grade A number1. The BBQ sampler was middle of the road. The pork ribs tasted like they were boiled then smoked. Brisket good smoky flavor but dry. The rest was very bland. But the Beer was ice cold.

What an amazing atmosphere! Food was 5 stars! Beyond good!!!! The nachos with potato chips was bomb!!!! Only thing that made it not 5 stars was the waitress, she didn’t come with beers and seemed to ignore us more than not. Other than that it was a great place with great food! Eat outside with live music! Highly recommend.

A truly terrible experience. They advertise barbecue cuisine, but it's nothing of the sort. The meat was tasteless and cold, not to mention the completely uninteresting side dishes. The service was nonexistent, there was no atmosphere whatsoever, and for all that, the bill was exorbitant! The waitresses were arrogant if you dare to make a comment! The worst experience in the American West! Without a doubt, don't go there.

Visiting for the second year in a row, things have changed drastically. The welcome was appalling, and the barbecue option was awful: the meat and fries were served cold. And be warned, it was the most expensive bill of our trip. Avoid this place!
