About

Flagstaff Brewing Company holds down a corner of Historic Route 66 in downtown Flagstaff, pouring handcrafted ales alongside a burger-and-pub-grub menu and a whiskey list deep enough to wander. It's a classic brewpub setup — a warm, spacious room with big windows letting in the Arizona sun — and the hours run late: open until 2 a.m. every night of the week.

What to order

Reviewers keep circling back to a few dishes: the poutine, served in a portion big enough to share, the BLAT, and the Black & Bleu burger with fries. The handcrafted ales are the headline, but the extensive whiskey selection gives it more range than most brewpubs if beer isn't the draw for you.

Know before you go

  • Location: 16 Historic Rte 66, in Flagstaff's walkable old town
  • Hours: 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., daily
  • Price: moderate ($$)

With 583 Google reviews and a 3.5-star average, service is the wild card here — recent reviews describe curt or dismissive bartenders on busy nights, while others (including one who called out a friendly, helpful server) had no complaints at all. The food and beer list are the reason to go; expect better odds earlier in the evening than right at closing.

Did not eat. Great beer and drink selections and the atmosphere never disappoints.

Bartender was slow. They were not crowded, really no excuse. Wife's margarita was so sour it was undrinkable. Garlic chips had no garlic to speak of. We stop there every year for the last 6 or 7 years. Probably won't be back.

Just tried to come in with a friend after having come here for two years since I moved to Flagstaff and was turned away very rudely and abruptly by the bartender right when I walked in. I get it, I look young. But I am not a new customer, and he didn’t even look at my ID, still saying “No.” and shaking his head. He then says, “I’ve been doing this for twenty years.” Implying that it’s fake?? I don’t know, but when I put it closer to him, he dismisses me again then asks for my friend’s ID. We just wanted to leave at that point, but calling and realizing HE was the manager on duty made it clear I won’t be coming back here again. He tried to say what happened didn’t happen over the phone. A place that was once somewhere I raved about has just become a crappy experience. :( do better
