Easygoing brewpub offering local & imported craft brews, pub fare & a dog-friendly patio.
Historic Brewing Barrel House sits right in the middle of downtown Flagstaff, and it plays the part of an easygoing brewpub well — big open space, dog-friendly patio out back, and a beer list built around Historic Brewing Company's own local lineup alongside imported options. With a 4.4 rating from 625 reviews, it's earned a loyal following for both the pours and the pub fare.
The beer is the draw: flights and pints of house brews like the Deer Lord amber ale, Lodge Dad red lager, and Oceanfront Property Arizona lager show up often in reviews, priced fairly according to regulars. On the food side, the Barrel House Cheeseburger and the Brussels sprouts tacos both get called out as standouts, and the Tossed Buffalo Wings are a solid starter if you're sharing. The kitchen has also handled food-allergy requests carefully, according to at least one review.
Service is friendly by most accounts, though a few reviewers note it can get busy enough that flagging down a server takes patience — fair trade-off for a big, popular room in the heart of downtown. Good stop for a casual dinner or a beer flight after a day exploring Flagstaff.
