About

Historic Brewing Barrel House sits right on Railroad Ave in downtown Williams, an easy stop for anyone passing through on the way to the South Rim. It's the Williams taproom for Flagstaff-based Historic Brewing Company, done up in an industrial-chic space with a big corner bar, rustic wood touches, and a patio for outdoor seating when the weather cooperates. With a 4.2 rating from over 1,600 reviews, it's one of the more consistently well-liked stops in town.

What to order

The move here is a beer flight — reviewers point to the Piehole Porter, Every Night Special Black Lager, and Lumberjack Morning Snack as standouts, alongside lighter options like Sol Dorado. On the food side, wood-fired pizza gets consistent praise, along with lasagna and pub-style bar fare. Order at the bar rather than waiting for table service, and note that water and condiments are self-serve.

Good to know

  • Hours: 11am-9pm Sunday through Thursday, 11am-10pm Friday and Saturday
  • Price range: $$
  • Also on site: a small gift shop, a few games, and restrooms

It's a solid lunch or happy-hour stop if you're routing through Williams before or after the Grand Canyon Railway, or just breaking up the drive north from Flagstaff.

Waited an hour for food… mine came then 30min later my husbands came! Waitstaff didn’t care… and the food was terrible. I couldn’t eat the week old chicken that was on my salad. What a bummer!

Kennedy concepts.... no wait staff, stand in line 20 min for a beer, then another 20 to order food, high prices, serve yourself, can't run a tab. Tourist trap, no locals, wonder why

My wife and I were visiting from Ohio, we ordered 2 pizzas, a classic cheese, a classic pepperoni with hot honey onions. They were delicious!!!! Crust was excellent, sauce was perfect. Would definitely eat again. Check them out next time you’re in Williams Arizona.

It was good but it took a while to get our food, it was chilly in the restaurant bc someone wanted the outside air and it was overpriced
