Iron Horse Restaurant is a timber-clad steakhouse right in Kanab, the kind of stop that turns a long Highway 89 drive between the North Rim and Zion into a proper meal. The menu runs on wood-smoked barbecue and steaks — brisket and ribs alongside cuts like top sirloin and filet mignon — backed by a full bar pouring beer and wine, and most of the meats and house-made sauces are gluten-free. Kanab's Hollywood history (decades of Westerns were filmed in the area) shows up in the cowboy-saloon decor, and the outdoor patio has yard games and a scavenger hunt that keeps kids busy while you wait for a table.

Dakota, Nancy, Hadley, and Dereck to name a few were amazing serving staff. Dinner was amazing, I shared a half a smoked chicken with yellow squash and zucchini, white bread, macaroni and cheese . I admit the food was so amazing it came so quickly the portions were huge, No pictures of the food. I also enjoyed the desert sunrise mocktail as my choice of beverage. The atmosphere was amazing. This restaurant has a family friendly atmosphere. We only had a 20 minute wait.

Stopped at Iron Horse Restaurant while spending the night in Kanab on a road trip, and it was a great find. I loved the western, Little Hollywood atmosphere. It fits the history of Kanab and gives the restaurant a fun character. I had the New York steak with a baked potato and vegetables, and it was really, really good. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the portions were great. Our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. If you're passing through Kanab or staying for the night, I'd definitely recommend stopping here.

We really liked this restaurant. The service was great and the food was great. My wife had a 10 ounce sirloin, and I had the Zion burger, plus our sides. The drinks were very refreshing. I had a Blue Moon and coke and they hit the spot. I definitely recommend this restaurant in Kanab.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Road-Trip Stop in Kanab! If you’re passing through Kanab, Iron Horse Restaurant is an absolute must. The Smokehouse Chips were incredible, the pomegranate sangria was refreshing, and the top sirloin was cooked perfectly. Right in the heart of town with a fun, casual cowboy vibe, this spot offers indoor and outdoor dining, is family- and pet-friendly, and has an awesome outdoor area with games, photo ops, and even a scavenger hunt with a prize—perfect for stretching your legs on a long drive. Great food, great drinks, and a memorable stop on any Utah road trip. We’ll definitely be back!

Two words - the brisket!! One of the best I ever had (sorry no pictures, we jumped on it before I could take it). The filet minion was also cooked perfectly. All their meats are gluten-free abs also their home made sauces. So we had plenty to choose from. Hadley, our server was super nice and made sure the kitchen is extra careful avoiding gluten. Overall 5/5!!!
