Casual, timber-clad outpost serving steaks, burgers, ribs & hearty sides alongside beer & wine.
Iron Horse Restaurant is a timber-clad steakhouse right in the heart of Kanab, the kind of stop that turns a long Highway 89 drive between the North Rim and Zion into a proper meal. The menu runs on wood-smoked barbecue and steaks — brisket and ribs alongside cuts like top sirloin and filet mignon — backed by a full bar pouring beer and wine, and most of the meats and house-made sauces are gluten-free. Kanab's Hollywood history (decades of Westerns were filmed in the area) shows up in the cowboy-saloon decor, and the outdoor patio has yard games and a scavenger hunt that keeps kids busy while you wait for a table.
It's an easy add-on whether you're staging in Kanab for the North Rim, the Wave, or Bryce — about 80 miles south of the North Rim entrance and walkable to downtown lodging.

The brisket was perfect and tender. Our only concern was for health safety. There were squeeze bottles of Best Foods mayonnaise on each table, like mustard or ketchup would be. Standard is 2 hours before concern but UT guidelines said 4. There were no clear time stickers to regulate that and when asked the answer was all restaurants do that here. Don't eat the mayo but the rest was delish!!!

Great barbecue! My boyfriend and I got the brisket and pulled pork and it was pretty good, big portions. Luke, our server, was the best!
