Jacob Lake Inn is the family-owned institution at the Highway 89A/67 junction, and it still works the way a good roadhouse should: motel rooms, cabins, a restaurant, and a bakery all under one wooded roof at the turnoff for Highway 67, the only paved road to the North Rim. It's the closest real lodging and meal stop to the park, about 44 miles south of the rim itself, and for hikers finishing a rim-to-rim crossing or road-trippers working through northern Arizona, it's often the whole plan for the night.

Der Aufenthalt im Jacob Lake Inn war insgesamt sehr angenehm und positiv. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das außergewöhnlich nette Personal, das jederzeit hilfsbereit und freundlich war. Der Service sorgt dafür, dass man sich sofort willkommen fühlt. Die Zimmer sind gut und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Das Bett ist bequem und bietet ausreichend Komfort für eine erholsame Nacht. Insgesamt ist alles sauber und ordentlich gehalten, sodass man sich problemlos wohlfühlen kann. Ein kleiner Nachteil ist, dass weder ein Kühlschrank noch eine Mikrowelle im Zimmer vorhanden sind. Allerdings wird dies teilweise ausgeglichen, da man kostenlos Eis an der Rezeption bekommt. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls gut und bietet einen soliden Start in den Tag. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt und würden das Jacob Lake Inn jederzeit wieder wählen.

Our lunch was amazing and we are about to devour some cookies! What a wonderful stop on our travels around the Grand Canyon. Our server, Christian, was an excellent server and local tour guide!

Update : Ruby from Jacob Lake Inn reached out to my wife and did a full refund of our stay. I have updated my review based off of that. I wish this conversation could had been avoided but I do appreciate the responsibility taken by the team and the effort to reach out to me and respectfully deal with this matter. Thanks, maybe my luck wasn't so well that I could provide a full 5 star review. Maybe next time. Original Rating : 1 Star Original Review : Wish I could provide a 5star review like others. But I had a unpleasant visit at Jacob Lake Inn on May 22. After checking in around evening, we found that the room lights were not working, the restroom didn’t lock. I had two senior people traveling with me who had difficulty walking in the dark because of their eye sight. I went back to front desk and informed them about this. I informed them that we will be heading outside for 3 hours, to which they responded they will take care of this. Guess what they didn’t. We came back found out that they didn’t even look at the issue. So when we reached out to them again, they gave us 2 battery powered lights and it really didn’t help. I have posted two videos. The first one was our room, the second one is the next door which was open after the checkout next day. So for some reason we got the worst room in the entire place. :) If you look closely the other room washroom has locks on it and not a cut out like ours, which was big enough to invade the privacy of the person inside it. After checking out of Jacob Lake Inn, they said they will compensate for this unpleasant stay, guess what it’s been a month and still not a single word from their side. I travel a lot, and this has been the worst experience so far in US.
