Local Mexican chain serving classic dishes & margaritas in a casual, traditional setting.
Plaza Bonita is a casual Mexican spot on AZ-64 in Grand Canyon Village, the kind of place that fills up fast with hikers and road-trippers looking for something more substantial than gas-station snacks after a day on the rim. It's part of a small regional chain, and the colorful, festive dining room leans into that classic sit-down-cantina feel rather than fine dining.
The menu covers the standards — tacos, chimichangas, enchiladas, mole, margaritas — and reviewers single out the street tacos, quesobirria, and refried beans as the things to order, with several noting solid gluten-free options. Portions come on generously sized plates, and takeout orders arrive with complimentary chips and salsa. Service gets consistent praise for being quick and attentive, though a couple of reviewers flagged inconsistent food temperature and prices running a bit higher at checkout than the online menu suggests.
It won't be the most refined meal of your trip, but for a convenient, kid-friendly dinner within walking distance of South Rim hotels, it's a reliable fallback.

The meal was phenomenal, from the very start. My only regret is that I'm not local, so won't be returning soon to try other menu items. Service was fast and expert. Highly recommend.

Ottimi piatti gustosi ed abbondanti, servizio buono, peccato per gli aspiratori della cucina che funzionano poco, nel locale c’è molto fumo e si esce con i vestiti con l’aroma del cibo
