Sosta
Downtown Flagstaff's all-day Italian cafe
About
Sosta is an Italian cafe on San Francisco Street in downtown Flagstaff, mixing espresso and pastries with fresh pasta, wood-fired pizza, and a gelato case. Reviewers consistently single out the same thing: a staff that's fast, warm, and genuinely on top of things, even when the kitchen runs behind.
What to expect
The menu covers a lot of ground for a cafe — breakfast burritos, house-made pasta, and pizza (one reviewer called out the pizzicletta-style pie specifically) alongside a full coffee bar with flavored cold foam drinks. Portions run generous, and more than one regular mentioned it's an easy place to post up with a laptop for a few hours. Sosta also runs a private event side of the business, hosting a wedding reception for close to 90 guests, with a grazing table and gelato bar for dessert.

Service is the throughline in nearly every review — attentive and quick to make things right on a slow ticket. Worth a stop for coffee and a pastry or a full sit-down pasta lunch downtown.

Order at the counter and find yourself a table. Excellent breakfast choices and very tasty. Dog friendly patio with big shady trees. Reasonable prices.

Sosta is one of my favorite spots in town. The coffee is consistently excellent, the gelato is fantastic, and the baristas are among the best around. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between spacious and cozy, making it an ideal place to relax, work, or catch up with a friend. One of the things that sets Sosta apart is how quiet and secluded it feels. Even when it’s busy, it maintains a calm, welcoming vibe. The backyard patio is a hidden gem, offering a peaceful outdoor space that’s perfect for enjoying a coffee on a nice day.

Their coffee brews are perfect, and the atmosphere is warm, friendly and welcoming. As an author, I appreciate the little nooks scattered about that are perfect for observing and writing.
