Animal trophies adorn this old-timey, wood-paneled bar with pub fare, a pool tables & tin ceiling.
Sultana Bar is a wood-paneled, old-timey watering hole on Williams' Historic Route 66, the kind of place where animal trophies line the walls, a tin ceiling caps the room, and a pool table sits ready for a game. It's earned a 4.6 rating across 733 reviews, and the pull is less about any one thing than the whole package: friendly bartenders, solid pub fare, and a room that feels lived-in rather than staged for tourists.
This is a beer-and-pub-fare kind of bar, not a sit-down restaurant, though the kitchen does more than bar snacks — one recent review singled out the steak sandwich and short rib dinner, both made with local meat. Reviewers consistently mention the bartenders by name and describe the staff as the kind who'll pull up a stool and talk. At least one visitor caught live music on a Friday night stop, though it's not a guaranteed nightly thing — worth calling ahead if music is what you're after.
Williams sits about 60 miles south of the South Rim, making Sultana Bar a natural stop the night before or after a canyon day — grab a seat at the bar for the full experience regulars rave about.
