American West Scenic Adventures runs small-group and private guided trips out of Kanab into the wild country south of Utah's border — Buckskin Gulch, White Pocket, and the broader Vermilion Cliffs and Paria Canyon backcountry. Owner-guide Jeff has built a reputation for knowing this landscape's geology and history in real depth, and for tailoring routes to whoever shows up, from families with kids to serious hikers chasing a slot canyon. Trips run by UTV, SUV, and on foot depending on where you're headed, with safety gear provided.

We had an awesome time on our tour today. Do not even hesitate to book a tour with Jeff! We had a blast and Jeff is knowledgeable about the history and geology of the amazing places you will see.

What a great experience. We met Jeff early in de morning and drove with his SUV to the Buckskin gulch. To make it more interesting he took his ATV with him on the trailer and the last part we drove with it to the parking lot where we parked the ATV and started our hike to the cave. During the hike we talked a lot with Jeff. He is such an open guy to talk about everything and he is such a relaxed guy. After we hiked around the Buckskin gulch for a few hours we went back to the ATV. We had time over so he would like to take us to another place nearby that he wanted to show us. Of course we were open for that. After another amazing view we headed back to Kanab. Definitely recommended to experience the beautiful area around kanab. Thank you Jeff!!

“Uncle Jeff” was awesome – caring, informative, entertaining and excellent at what he does. We cannot recommend him enough. We got to learn so much about the slot canyon we visited with him but also about Kanab and all the great attractions it has in its “neighborhood”. As a bonus, he took us to White Wave – which was really cool!

Jeff was Amazing :) If you are looking for a Great Adventure this is the company to book! Jeff made it possible for us to see some of Utah’s most beautiful country with our parents! He was incredibly accommodating and gracious. He customized our trip to our interests, abilities and available time. We saw the most Incredible and Unique Country and had a Awesome time doing it! Everything was top of the line from UTV to Safety Equipment. Best family tour we have been on and we can’t recommend them enough!
