(529)
Grand Canyon Village, AZ

About

Buck Wild Hummer Tours runs open-air Hummer excursions out of Grand Canyon Village, pulling guests to a string of South Rim viewpoints with a guide narrating the whole way. With a 4.7 rating across 529 Google reviews, it's built a reputation as one of the more memorable ways to see the rim without doing the driving yourself.

What the tour covers

Guides stop at several picturesque overlooks along the rim, and reviewers consistently mention guides taking photos throughout the ride so guests can just take in the view instead of fussing with a camera. The sunset departure gets particular praise — reviewers who booked the evening tour described the light and the stops as worth the trip on its own. Several guides get called out by name in reviews, including Gigi and Jerry Lefthand, a Navajo guide reviewers noted for weaving in his own family history and language alongside standard Grand Canyon facts.

  • Hours: daily, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Location: 469 AZ-64 Ste A, Grand Canyon Village
  • Good to know: a non-resident fee applies on top of the base tour price, per traveler feedback — worth confirming when booking

Guide energy varies trip to trip, per reviews, but the vehicle and booking process draw consistent praise. Worth booking ahead, especially for the sunset slot.

We had an incredible experience with Buck Wild Hummer Tours. From the very beginning, everything was easy—they picked us up and dropped us off right at our location, which made the whole experience completely stress-free. Our guide, Sam, was fantastic—super knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the area. He shared fascinating stories about the canyons, the history, and the local wildlife that made the tour so much more than just sightseeing. Sam also went out of his way to take family photos for us at all of the most beautiful overlooks, which I appreciated. The company even provided water and blankets as the evening cooled down. Watching the sun set over the canyons was absolutely magical and something we'll never forget. If you're visiting the Grand Canyon, this is an experience you shouldn't miss. Highly recommend! #buckyeah

Fantastic sunset tour, and tour guide Samuel was amazing. Very knowledgeable and very personable. Picked us up at hotel right on time showed us some amazing spots we would have never known about. Sunset view was amazing. I highly recommend.

We had the best time with the best tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about the area and took us to great spots, and recommended more for us to check out later. The open air Hummer was a great way to cruise around the canyon. Highly recommend the sunset tour!

I had an incredible experience with Buck Wild tours, better than I could have anticipated. From start to finish, everything was well organized, enjoyable, and exceeded my expectations. A huge shoutout to David, our tour guide, who was absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great experience, sharing his knowledge, answering questions, and making the tour both fun and memorable. His enthusiasm and dedication truly made the trip special. If you’re considering a tour with Buck Wild, I highly recommend it. This was one of the highlights of my trip, and I would absolutely book with them again!

This tour was amazing!! Miss Gigi was a great photographer and very informative about the Canyon and the surrounding village. The tour stops several times at areas that are known for being picturesque. I did the sunset tour and was very fortunate that the we didn’t have too many clouds in the sky. I really recommend this tour- and Miss Gigi- to anyone who is looking to see as much of the Canyon as possible in a day. P.S. I know the photos are great- but really no photo could do the view justice. It is 1000% worth going in person.
