Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course
Facility at Fort Tuthill County Park offering treetop suspended obstacle courses for kids & adults.
About
Tucked into the ponderosa pines at Fort Tuthill County Park just south of downtown Flagstaff, Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course is a treetop obstacle and zip line park that draws families, teens, and thrill-seekers off the highway for a half-day of climbing, swinging, and flying through the forest canopy. It's rated 4.8 stars from over 1,600 Google reviews, and reviewers consistently point to the guides as the standout: attentive, safety-focused staff who walk first-timers through the gear before letting them loose on the course.
What to expect
The course mixes suspended bridges, ladders, and around 30 zip lines strung between the pines, with routes built for different comfort levels — reviewers with a fear of heights still describe finishing the course and calling it worth it. Plan for a real time commitment: guests who do the full course plus zip lines report spending 4-5 hours on site, longer with a big group. Groups can bottleneck at obstacles when a slower party is ahead, so arriving early or booking with a smaller party helps keep the pace moving.
- Hours: daily, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Location: Fort Tuthill County Park, 2446 Ft Tuthill Lp, Flagstaff
- Good for: kids and adults, including nervous-about-heights first-timers
Book ahead, especially for school breaks and summer weekends, and expect to be in guided harnesses the whole time — this isn't a self-guided rope course.

Our 4 teenagers loved this course! It was definitely a highlight of our vacation. Instructions and demo ensured everything was very safe. Our two oldest finished the whole course and it was super fun that they got the wrist bands and names on the board. A very fun time!

honestly didnt know what to expect going in but wow that was so much fun. my arms were totally dead by the end but in the best way. the staff were super chill and walked us through everything so i never felt lost or scared. the views from up in the trees are just insane i kept stopping to look around. my group had a blast even the person who was really nervous at first. they let you go at your own pace which i appreciated cause im not super athletic. definitely want to come back and try a different course next time.

We visited with a large group of about 20 people, including teenage boys and adults, and overall the course itself was a fun experience. The biggest issue was the pacing and how groups were managed. One of the guides was personally guiding a smaller group of kids through the course. Our group was moving much faster and asked if we could pass, but we were told we could not. We ended up waiting about an hour for their group to finish, so we stopped and ate lunch while we waited. When we started again, their group ended up going in front of us again. Normally that would not have been a problem, but they were significantly slower, often taking 10–15 minutes longer per obstacle. Our group would finish an obstacle in 30 seconds and then be stuck waiting 15 minutes on the next platform for their group to move. This continued for hours and ended up making the experience take about 2-3 hours longer than it should have. The delay became so frustrating that about half of our group eventually left because they were tired of waiting. After repeatedly asking, they finally allowed us to pass, and once we did, we finished the remaining section in about 10 minutes. The course itself was enjoyable, but the lack of a clear policy for allowing faster groups to safely pass slower groups really hurt the experience. Especially with large groups, there should be a system in place to keep one slower group from holding up everyone behind them. With better pacing management, this could be a great experience, but the way it was handled made it disappointing for our group.
