Did the 4-hour drive from Vegas with my parents and honestly it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I was a little unsure if the drive would be worth it but the second you pull up and see the canyon for the first time, all of that goes away. It’s one of those things where you just stand there and don’t really know what to say. Since I was with my parents, we kept it to the smaller trails along the South Rim and that was more than enough. The views from every single overlook were incredible. You don’t need to hike deep into the canyon to feel like you got the full experience. Every spot we stopped at was just as amazing as the last one. The park is really well kept and easy to navigate. Parking was straightforward and the trails are very manageable even if you’re not someone who hikes regularly. We spent a good few hours just walking around and taking everything in. If you’re in Vegas and debating whether to make the trip, just go. Pack some snacks, bring a jacket because it does get windy up there, and give yourself a full day so you’re not rushing through it. I’m 100% coming back to do more of the trails next time. Absolutely worth it.
