Personal, unhurried slot canyon tours from Kanab locals who know every turn

About

Roads End Slot Canyon Tours runs small, personal guided trips into the slot canyons around Kanab, led by longtime locals Cathy and Chris (Dwayne has also guided). Reviewers consistently point to the same thing: this isn't a big-group operation, it's a private, unhurried walk through the canyons with someone who's called Kanab home for decades and knows the land, the history, and how the rock formations came to be. Trips into Peekaboo Slot Canyon are a recurring highlight, along with stops at sandstone arches and other formations reviewers describe as easy to miss without a guide. Guides take photos along the way, so you come home with images of the group actually in the canyon, not just scenery shots.

The same property also runs Brookside Cottage, a bed and breakfast with a garden setting reviewers describe as genuinely peaceful — fish ponds, and Catalpa, apricot, pine, and aspen trees shading the grounds, with a newer Southwest-themed room added to the lineup.

Cathy is a Gem! She is warm, informative, helpful, and a true delight! Thank you Cathy and Chris for showing my family and I around the Canyon. The tour was suitable for every age. We have the coolest photos (Cathy took many). Will treasure the experience and photos for a long time. Thank you so much!!

I know you’ll be in Kanab for your own reasons, but I want to take a moment to express how proud I am of all the hard work Cathy has put into creating her own unique tour experience. The progress she has made in crafting private, memorable, and welcoming tours is truly something special. Once you meet Cathy and Chris—who also leads tours—you’ll be immediately immersed in their warmth, wisdom, and engaging conversation. Whether it’s exploring the Peekaboo Slot Canyons or embarking on an adventure tailored to your deepest desires, they offer something extraordinary. Chris brings athleticism and extensive hiking knowledge, while Cathy’s empathy and artistic perspective allow her to see the landscape in a unique way. Beyond the tours, Cathy’s bed and breakfast offers a peaceful retreat. She recently added a new Southwest-themed room to her accommodations. The outdoor garden is surrounded by tall Catalpa, Apricot, Pine, and Aspen trees, with two flowing fish ponds creating a serene atmosphere—perfect for a relaxing staycation getaway. I can’t wait to revisit this experience. Cathy’s roots have grown deep and wide, flourishing beautifully in Kanab. Sincerely and intentionally, Joan

We had a wonderful time on our slot canyon tour with Cathy! She has been doing tours to the canyon longer than some guides have been alive so she can show you things about the canyon others don't know. The canyon is amazing and Cathy makes it a great day. If you are headed to the Zion or Bryce Canyon areas, absolutely book a tour with Cathy. It is as impressive as either park!

Duane did a great job of highlighting cool features of Peekaboo canyon and offered to take as many pictures of us as we wanted. Before we arrived the canyon, he even took us to a place called Hidden Lake. Being from the area himself, it was fun to hear his experience of growing up in the region. The drive to the canyon took us past Best Friends Animal Sanctuary where we stopped at the remarkable pet cemetery. After the tour of the Canyon, we also got to see some unique rock formations. My husband and I enjoyed the private tour and all of the extras that came along with it. Thanks for making our trip so memorable and enjoyable, Duane!
