Elephant Rocks Golf Course
About
Elephant Rocks Golf Course is the City of Williams' own 18-hole course, tucked into the Ponderosa pines just south of downtown at nearly 7,000 feet of elevation. What started as a nine-hole layout in the 1920s got a full second nine added in 2000, and the result is a genuine championship test that plays cool and green through summer while most of the desert courses south of here are baking.
What golfers say
Reviewers consistently call out the course conditioning and the price — a municipal course built for locals and road-trippers alike rather than a resort crowd. Golfers describe fast greens, well-kept fairways, and towering pines lining nearly every hole, with several noting it's an easy stop between a night in Williams and a morning at the Grand Canyon.
- Hours: open daily, 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- Length: 6,695 yards, par 72
- Ownership: owned and operated by the City of Williams
- Phone: (928) 635-4935
It's a walkable, unpretentious course at elevation — bring a few extra balls for the pines, and expect the ball to fly a little farther than sea level habits suggest.
