Greenway Trailhead Connector
A paved link in the Grand Canyon's rim-side greenway network
About
This is a paved connector segment of the Grand Canyon Greenway system, built to link the greenway network near Pipe Creek Vista through to the South Kaibab Trailhead. It's roughly ten feet wide for most of its length, with about eight feet paved and a two-foot unpaved shoulder for horses, and it's designed as a shared-use path for walkers, cyclists, wheelchair users, and equestrians rather than a backcountry hiking route. Near Pipe Creek Vista the path narrows to accommodate the existing parking area while staying fully accessible.
What it connects
- Links South Rim greenway segments toward the South Kaibab Trailhead, one of the park's main access points for the corridor trails into the canyon
- Forms part of the route tying the Arizona Trail on nearby Forest Service land near Tusayan through to the South Kaibab Trail
Use it as a way to move between rim viewpoints and trailheads on foot or bike without needing a car or the shuttle, not as a below-the-rim hike in itself.
Best Time to Use It
As a paved, developed-area connector, this segment is usable year-round without seasonal restrictions.
