My fiancé and I booked this hotel a couple of months in advance of our trip to visit the Grand Canyon due to the better reviews and pricing this property had compared to it's neighbors. We checked in and checked out in less than an hour and left to find a better hotel.
Once we got our room key cards, we opened the door to our room and were greeted with a musty, used car smell that didn't inspire confidence. The room itself was much smaller and less attractive than what the pictures online portrayed, feeling rather dated in comparison to other hotels we've visited, and the bathroom was even more cramped than the room. It was in there we found several ants crawling around, and I spent the next 15-20 minutes checking everywhere in our tiny room. I found about 20 more in that time, on the walls, in the shower, on countertops, and where one died another would crawl from another gap or opening. This along with the other disappointments led to us requesting a refund with the manager. Multiple times I requested information on the refund process and our disinterest in the property, but the manager was insistent that our room specifically had been sprayed by Ecolab, cleaned, and checked personally by him, and continued to offer us a different room, stating that due to the season ants were common and that other nearby properties were having the same pest issue. Three times I requested, and after three passive aggressive responses he eventually agreed to the refund. We packed up, left our key cards, and found another hotel 5 minutes away with not a single ant in sight.
It was our fault for not having the right set of expectations, so temper your own if choosing to stay here. It would be good for a night's stay with no more than two people, and the other rooms may have been better. But due to the feel, the size, the smell, the ants, and having to aggressively negotiate our departure I would cautiously advise against visiting.
My husband and I stayed here for one night and had a good overall experience. The room was nice and clean, though a bit on the smaller side—but perfectly fine for a short stay. The bed was comfortable, and the heater warmed up the room really well, which made it cozy.
The breakfast could use a little improvement. There were quite a few sweet options, but not as many healthier choices—just apples for fruit, no bananas. They did have toast and oatmeal, though. One highlight was definitely the coffee machine—it was excellent! You could make coffee, lattes, or macchiatos, which was a really nice touch.
The location is great—you can walk just about anywhere downtown, which made everything super convenient. For the price we paid ($116), it was very reasonable. I would definitely stay here again.
Maybe it's because I had a bad experience the night before, but this is the most I've enjoyed a hotel room in a while. Great selection of channels on the TV, shower had good pressure, & the heater will warm you up like nobody's business. Room was clean & didn't even have a funky smell like in most motels. Best sleep I had all week. The breakfast is nothing to scream at, your standard food, cereal, muffins, etc, but you're spoiled for nearby food options--Goldie's is right across the street if you want something good & cheap.
We were very happy with the clean, comfortable quiet room. Staff was very cheerful to help me locate the ice machine. The manager went above and beyond for us. The morning we were ready to leave, our rental vehicle would not start. My husband asked the manager for local garage/tow truck assistance for a jump start. The manager immediately backed his truck near ours and jumped our battery. It worked! We offered the manager cash for his assistance, he refused. We were so appreciative and grateful! We will definitely return. Thank you so much!
I reserved 6 rooms here in April for our mens golf weekend. Nemo the owner was great to work with. We arrived and the rooms were ready for us . Nemo was on site and checked us in . Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Prices were good . We will definitely be staying here again.
