Candlelit dining domes under some of Arizona's darkest skies.

About

Clear Sky Resorts sits on a stretch of open high desert outside Williams, and the draw is right there in the name: geodesic sky domes with skylights built for stargazing, set on a property with almost no light pollution. It's part glamping resort, part destination-dining stop, with a 4.3 rating from 711 Google reviews pulling in guests for the domes, the horseback rides, and the food.

Dining domes and the food truck

Beyond the overnight stays, the resort runs dining experiences in its own dining domes, with a chef preparing multi-course dinners for guests — reviewers single out standout plates and describe the food as good enough for a special-occasion night, complete with candlelit tables under the stars. A more casual food truck and happy hour (prickly pear margaritas get a mention) cover the everyday meals. One recent reviewer noted the food runs pricey, which they chalked up to the remote location.

Beyond the meal

  • Rating: 4.3 stars from 711 reviews
  • On site: fire pits, telescopes and guided stargazing, horseback riding, a playground and jumping pillow for kids
  • Location: High Grove Road outside Williams, roughly a 40-minute drive to the South Rim entrance

Reviewers consistently praise the staff and the night sky above the food and lodging itself — this is a place built around the experience of disconnecting under genuinely dark skies, not a quick bite on the way to the canyon.

Unique resort with great amenities, attentive staff and beautiful vistas. We stayed two nights in the base model dome. Everything was clean and well prepped for us. The service was great. We loved the s'mores and bon fires, the evening yoga, the games and bounce pillow, and the dining options. Proximity to the Grand Canyon was doable. The sunsets left us speechless.

The staff is fantastic! They were eager to help and extremely quick. They helped us carry all our luggage to our pod and then showed us how to work the vital parts of the room. Having smores was lovely, all though they do need longer sticks- There are a few things that did not align with what was depicted on their website. There are no robes, and some of the rooms look different than what was depicted. There are a few items that had damage in our room. But it did not really affect the functionality of the room. Just the aesthetic. You can text in order to receive assistance rather than call which I love. It is a little bit of a walk to the activities from the pods, but it’s a campground and I wouldn’t expect anything different. There is a bit of light pollution on the horizon line, so do not expect a 360 of stars, but you can still see a lot!

Gorgeous views all around. Activities aplenty for everyone and all ages. They're great at keeping you up to date on what is going on. Would absolutely return. Little hot in the summer during the day but nights are still very nice

Our stay at Clear Sky Resort was made even more special because of Malik and Xavier. Xavier was just as wonderful—friendly, helpful, and always pleasant to interact with. Malik was absolutely amazing. He answered every question I had, went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of, and made the entire experience simple, stress-free, and enjoyable. His kindness, patience, and willingness to help made me feel genuinely heard and valued. Together, they helped make our very first family vacation an unforgettable experience. Thank you both for your kindness, professionalism, and for giving us such peace of mind throughout our stay. You were a huge part of what made this trip so memorable, and we truly appreciate everything you did. Clear Sky Resort is lucky to have you both!

This is far from being called a resort. Food truck only for dinner, no condiments Tents were taped up and flooring was trashed Generic HVAC ministers cannot keep tent cool until sunset. Ants all over inside tent Supposed to be serene but they brought in a live death metal band and jammed out into after 10pm Not only did they bring in the band but they opened the resort to locals to start showing up. They were drunk in the restaurant/bar tent loud and using profane language. Staff would drive at excessive speed by you in golf cart blowing dust all over you when walking to the other tents. Glass was filthy and you couldn’t see clearly out of the sky light. POD chair seats were not cleaned Missing screen in roof vent Definitely not what you’d expect based on website photos and it being located near the Grand Canyon. It was definitely an experience
