Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Flagstaff I-40

Clean, convenient Flagstaff basecamp for your South Rim trip

(192)
Flagstaff, AZ

About

This Days Inn & Suites sits on Flagstaff's east side near I-40, about 80 miles south of the South Rim. It's a straightforward chain hotel, but it's earned a solid 4.2-star rating from 160 reviews, with guests consistently calling out clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a front desk staff that goes out of its way to help.

What guests notice

Reviewers mention reliable hot water and shower pressure, quiet rooms, and family-friendly layouts with enough beds for larger groups. Complimentary breakfast is included and gets regular praise, and several guests flag the location as convenient — close to shopping, restaurants, gas stations, and the interstate. Check-in is handled by a front-desk clerk, though check-out is via kiosk, which not everyone loves.

  • Rating: 4.2 stars (160 Google reviews)
  • Location: 2520 E Lucky Ln, Flagstaff — near I-40, roughly 80 miles south of Grand Canyon Village
  • Good for: families and travelers who want a clean, no-frills room for the night, whether that's before an early start north to the South Rim or simply a stop along I-40

It won't compete with Flagstaff's boutique downtown options, but for a functional, well-reviewed place to sleep, it delivers.

We loved staying here. The room was nice, clean, and decently spacious. My favorite part was the beds - they were comfy! Not too hard like most hotels in this price range. The shower was nice too. Too many budget-friendly hotels have weird water pressure or the shower heads are too small. This one was great and I didn’t run out of hot water either. The breakfast was very limited, but the waffles were delicious! The AC blew hard and cold, which was great because we were here escaping the heat! You can adjust the temp and the pressure of the unit. This will be our new go-to for a hotel in Flagstaff.

Friendly reception staff. However, the bedroom floor was dirty, stained, and covered in crumbs. The mirrors in both the bedroom and bathroom were dirty and stained. The bathroom door frame was torn off. The bedroom door was jammed and poorly insulated. We tried to use the washing machine in a disgusting corner, and let me tell you, the ice maker was in the same place, so it was also abandoned. The hotel is very poorly maintained. There were mouse droppings on one wall of the breakfast room, a green pool, and a condom in the parking lot in front of the room entrance. In short, we spent three weeks touring the west coast, changing hotels every day, and this was the worst of all.

Room was perfect for us. Very comfortable bed and pillows. TV viewing was limited but didn't spend much time in room anyway. Close to restaurants, grocery store and gas. Not a far drive to downtown. Price was reasonable. Will stay there again if ever in the area.
