About

The Econo Lodge Flagstaff East sits off I-40 on Lucky Lane, one of several budget motels lining the east side of Flagstaff, about 80 miles south of the South Rim. It's a straightforward, no-frills stop billed around an outdoor pool and free full breakfast, with parking and WiFi included — the basics for travelers who just need a bed before or after a canyon day.

What to expect

Google reviewers give this property a 3.2 rating from over 1,400 reviews, and recent feedback has been rough — multiple guests describe worn-down rooms, cleanliness issues, and inconsistent breakfast service, with a few reports of ongoing construction near the lobby. That's worth knowing going in: this is a bargain, drive-up motel, not a polished chain stay, and the reviews suggest quality has been inconsistent lately.

Good to know

  • Location: 2500 E Lucky Ln, Flagstaff — east side, off I-40, near a strip of other budget motels
  • Amenities: outdoor pool, free full breakfast, free parking and WiFi
  • Best for: travelers prioritizing a low price and an easy freeway exit over polish

If you're budget-conscious and just need a place to crash between Flagstaff and the South Rim, it covers the basics — but given the review pattern, it's worth checking current guest feedback before booking, and comparing against other east-Flagstaff options if a spotless room matters more than price.

I would only stay here if you need a crash pad. The beds are basically a pull out couch style mattress and everything is old and dirty. Very convenient location though and no noise.

Walls are paper thin. you can fill the wind coming in through the seal from the window and the doors. The bathtub with filthy and had hair still on the bathroom sink. There was only one light that worked in the whole room. Bedding is little to none. Air conditioner is broke as Savannah as broken pieces missing and completely filthy along with a dirty filter. On top of it the room smelled like weed.

The city needs to shut down this motel. The ceiling is falling apart and the paint is peeling and being repainted over. Thinking Asbestos. Don't bring your family here! No breakfast. Got coffee but no creamer. Unbelievable! Not staying here again.

Checked in 6/20/2026 and checked out the same day. The property and rooms do not look the same in person as they do in photos. For one, there are signs at the check in desk that state the property is non smoking but there was a cigarette butt left at the front desk. In the room my family and I reserved the walls, doors, and floors were dirty. They did not looked wiped down nor swept/mopped. There was a dead cockroach in the bathroom/sink area. When I brought these issues up to the front desk the young woman did not seem surprised of the state of the room, nor was she able to give me a refund. Left feeling seriously grossed out. If I could rate a zero I would.
