A full-kitchen studio steps from the South Rim, with hotel amenities included

(38)
Grand Canyon Village, AZ

About

This studio apartment sits within the Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel complex in Grand Canyon Village, putting you within walking distance of the South Rim's restaurants and shops without the scarcity (or price) of the historic in-park lodges. Reviewers consistently call out the full kitchen, thick towels and linens, and comfortable beds as standouts for a stay this close to the park entrance.

What's included

Guests get a full kitchen stocked with cooking essentials, a private deck, and in-room laundry access via a coin-operated washer and dryer down the hall. Your key card also opens up the main hotel's amenities, including an indoor hot tub year-round and an outdoor pool in summer, plus the on-site restaurant, bar, and gift shop.

  • Rating: 4.5 stars from 38 Google reviews
  • Location: 415 RP Dr, Grand Canyon Village — walking distance to South Rim dining
  • Good to know: a few reviewers note the heating can run cold on winter nights, so pack layers if you're visiting in the off-season

Front desk staff get repeat praise for being helpful and informative, and more than one reviewer mentioned watching elk right from the deck. Book ahead regardless of season — South Rim lodging fills up fast given how limited the in-park options are.

Nice hotel. Helpful staff, great location. Nice size rooms. Comfy bed/pillows. Nothing fancy but does the job. Would stay again for sure.

We stayed in a first-floor apartment. The apartment was quite spacious and clean, although it smelled a bit musty. We had a view of a meadow; apparently, you can often see animals there, but we didn't see any. Check-in was easy and friendly, and directions to the apartment were clear. A parking space is available in front of the apartment. It's right in the center of Tusayan, near the Grand Canyon and its shops and restaurants.

Excellent location for seeing the Grand Canyon. Everyone was very friendly, but we had to wait in line at check-in. The price was completely out of line with the service. You only pay so much because you're close to the Grand Canyon.
