About

Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel sits right at the Williams depot, which is really the whole draw here — this is where the vintage train to the South Rim departs, so staying the night before means walking outside and boarding rather than racing the clock at 7 a.m. Rated 4.5 stars from over 4,600 Google reviews, it has a resort-like scale that one recent reviewer said feels large for the size of the town.

What to expect

The lobby leans into the property's train-era theme with a big stone fireplace, historic canyon photos, and comfortable seating — reviewers consistently call it out as a nice place to land after a travel day. Rooms are clean and well-kept, and the property has an indoor pool and hot tub. For food and drinks, Spencer's Pub on site gets solid marks, and there's a full-service restaurant with a breakfast buffet (guests note it's a bit pricey, and breakfast isn't included in the room rate — check when booking). Front-desk service gets praise for efficiency at check-in, though a few reviewers flagged inconsistency with evening staff.

Good to know

  • Location: 235 N Grand Canyon Blvd, Williams — directly connected to the Grand Canyon Railway depot
  • Best for: travelers riding the train up to the South Rim the next morning
  • Note: some conveniences (like an in-room microwave) carry an extra fee, so it's worth asking at booking

It's not inside the park, but for anyone taking the train, this is about as convenient as lodging gets.

ルート66の観光に適した場所で、古き良きアメリカを感じれるアメリカ映画ファンにとっては、大変良い思い出になった。また、ホテルもその面影を残している。

From beginning to end, our stay at the hotel was welcoming and enjoyable. We appreciated the throwback to classic Americana and how the hotel kept original features like the beautiful staircases and front reception, but also had upgrades like WiFi and newer bathrooms and decorating. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys a comfortable stay, clean rooms, and the feeling of living back when Route 66 was a thriving roadway.

Absolutely gorgeous trip, train ride, and stay at this hotel! Everything was super clean and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I will suggest this trip to everyone I know. The Maswick Lodge was also spectacular!
