Unfussy rooms & suites in an informal hotel with an indoor pool, plus free Wi-Fi & breakfast.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Williams sits in Arizona's historic Route 66 town, the departure point for the Grand Canyon Railway and a solid base if you'd rather stay in a walkable town than at the rim itself. It's a straightforward chain hotel: unfussy rooms and suites, free Wi-Fi, and free breakfast included in the stay.
Reviews are mixed but land it at 3.9 stars from over 1,150 Google reviews. On the plus side, guests point to large, clean rooms, a fridge and microwave in every room, good water pressure, and courteous front-desk staff. On the downside, several recent reviews flag inconsistent housekeeping, a worn-in feel to some rooms, and service hiccups during busy or short-staffed stretches. Worth noting for anyone counting on it: the indoor pool has been closed with no confirmed reopening date, so don't book here specifically for a swim.
It's a budget-friendly, predictable chain option rather than a destination stay — read as a convenient overnight near the train depot, not a splurge.

This hotel was perfect! Check in was easy, room was clean, beds were very comfortable! I would definitely stay here again!

Staff was great! Common areas could use more attention but overall our room was good. Beds are hard especially the pullout couch but we brought mattress toppers after reading other reviews thank goodness we did it made all the difference

This place is very bad. When we arrived there it took 10 minutes for us to get the key for our room, and when we went in the room, it smelled extremely bad and the pullout couch was a twin bed instead of a queen bed, we had to go downstairs to get an extra cot . After we slept and woke up, we went downstairs to have breakfast, and a woman kept staring at us eating food and made us feel uncomfortable. When we came back that evening, the key wouldn’t work and we had to go back downstairs to get a new one. When we went inside, we expected a clean room with new sheets but when we went inside it looked the exact same
