Budget-friendly camping right at Jacob Lake, minutes from the North Rim turnoff.
Kaibab Camper Village sits under the ponderosa pines right at Jacob Lake, the last real stop before Highway 67 carries you 44 miles south to the North Rim. It's a working RV park and campground in Kaibab National Forest, recently under new local ownership, with pull-through and back-in sites offering full hookups alongside simpler tent and dry-camping spots for anyone rolling in with a trailer or just a tent.
With a 4.2 rating across 370 reviews, guests consistently point to the staff as the standout: reservations held with just a name, no deposit needed, and friendly help even for late arrivals scrambling to set up camp before dark. Rates run under $15 a night, which is rare for a campground this close to the canyon rim. There's no restaurant on-site, so stock up before you arrive, though Jacob Lake Inn is just a few minutes away for meals, baked goods, and last-minute supplies. Open daily 10 AM to 7 PM for check-in, this is the practical, budget-friendly base camp for a North Rim trip.

Our stay at WYLDE near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon was amazing! The campground was beautiful, the atmosphere was relaxing, and everything made for a great getaway. They also had some of the best merchandise we’ve seen at any campground—we couldn’t leave without picking up a few things! The ATV tours were an absolute highlight and so much fun. The trails and overall experience made the trip unforgettable. The only thing that could have made our stay even better was a warmer welcome from the host. Aside from that, we had a fantastic experience. We can’t wait to come back and are already planning our next trip. Highly recommend WYLDE if you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure near the North Rim!

Our favorite campground we stayed at during our travels with the kids. Everything was clean. The staff was friendly.

Beautiful location, secluded in the woods. Easily accessible via an unpaved path. The campsite was quiet and we were welcomed in a friendly and hospitable manner by the new owner. We had just booked before the campsite changed ownership. It turned out that we had booked a pitch close to other campers, which is actually no longer available after the takeover. In consultation with and at the initiative of the campsite, we were moved to an available pitch so that we were further apart. You could see that the new owners are busy upgrading this campsite. An example of this was the neat, new sanitary facilities. There are also nice spots to light a campfire. We didn't have any wood with us, but we were able to buy it at the reception. This was then neatly brought to the fire pit. Highly recommended for camping!

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP!!!!! Please ignore bad reviews this place is awesome, my family Really enjoyed staying here. They are changing the sites to make them bigger so don't go off old maps. The owners are very nice and are always onsite to help. Campground is a short drive to the north rim area and has electric, water and a dump station.
