About

This La Quinta sits a few blocks off Williams' historic Route 66 strip, and reviewers consistently point out that's actually the appeal: close enough to walk into town, far removed enough that you won't hear trains rattling through all night the way you can from some downtown motels. At 4.5 stars across nearly 1,700 Google reviews, it's one of the more reliably rated places to stay in a town built around Grand Canyon Railway traffic.

Rooms and amenities

Rooms and suites run clean and fairly spacious, with some two-king suites available for families or groups. The property has a heated indoor pool, hot tub, and fitness room, plus a hot breakfast included with the stay. Standouts in guest feedback include attentive front-desk staff and provided luggage carts, which matter more than you'd think after a day of hauling bags through a national park trip.

Location perk

The hotel sits right next door to Grand Canyon Brewing Company's restaurant and taproom, and more than one review mentions walking over for dinner or drinks without needing to drive. That proximity, combined with the quieter setting off the main corridor, makes it a solid base for exploring Williams before heading north to the South Rim.

  • Rating: 4.5 stars (1,693 reviews)
  • Location: 1100 Cataract Lake Rd, Williams, AZ — short walk to downtown
  • Amenities: heated indoor pool, hot tub, gym, hot breakfast

The pool was closed and the elevator was broken. We had to drag all three of our bags up to the third floor. They should've told us beforehand.

For the price, nice room. The toilet paper may as well be news paper. Be sure to bring your own roll. The worst toilet paper I have ever tried to use. I am not even lying. I cannot say loud enough and warn you harder, toilet paper sucks. The elevator was broken so we had to drag our stuff up three floors of stairs. WiFi is not free, you have to belong to their club. I was able to get it as a sort of compensation for the broken elevator, but I had to use it as a reason to get free WiFi. The breakfast is better than cereal and no fat milk, but just. It is a newer building so everything still looks nice. A/C works. Toilet paper sucks. Sleep well fellow travelers.

A modern and decently appointed hotel. Our room was comfortable and relatively clean; save for a bit of dog hair since it’s a pet friendly hotel. Breakfast was acceptable. My only complaint was that the elevator did not work at all three days I stayed. WiFi is also painfully slow.
