Parry Lodge has been putting up travelers on Kanab's main drag since 1931, and it's one of the few places in town where the history isn't a marketing gimmick. Dozens of Western films were shot around Kanab in the mid-20th century, and the stars stayed here — John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Maureen O'Hara, the Rat Pack. Some evenings the old barn on the property still screens a movie that was filmed in the area, a nice touch that reviewers consistently call out as a highlight rather than a novelty. At 4.5 stars across more than 1,000 reviews, it's one of the better-reviewed stays in town.

This was a highlight in our trip! We just happened to see it as we were looking for a place to stay for the night. The hospitality was great! The price great! The room very comfortable. The breakfast buffet had many choices. The old actors theme was spot on.

We were very disappointed, as we first visited in 2009. It was so inspiring and simply fantastic! 👍 Behind the lodge is an old barn where, back in 2009, they used to show old Westerns filmed in the area in the evenings. The Parry Lodge was a place where celebrated actors used to relax. Most people will probably still remember John Wayne. According to my research, the owners (the family) sold the lodge in 2015, apparently due to their age, to a large investor who is now unfortunately letting everything fall into disrepair! What a shame! The lodge was truly iconic! We will never stay here again!!

This is such a unique and beautiful place to stay. If you enjoy experiencing local history and culture, this is the place. It is located perfectly within walking distance of local restaurants too. My kids enjoyed the included breakfast, too. Next time you’re in Kanab, stay at the Parry Lodge!
