Red Canyon Cabins

Simple, pet-friendly cabins in Kanab, a straight shot to the North Rim

Kanab, UT

About

Red Canyon Cabins is a no-frills, pet-friendly motel-style property in Kanab, set up as a row of individual cabins each with parking right outside the door. It's a practical home base for Grand Canyon North Rim road trips — Kanab sits roughly 80 miles from the North Rim entrance, close enough for a day trip and central enough to also cover Zion, Bryce, and the Vermilion Cliffs if your itinerary stretches wider than just the canyon.

What to expect

Guests consistently point to the location and value: a quiet two-track road behind the cabins for walking dogs, an easy walk down into town, and rates that undercut most Kanab hotels. Rooms run simple and a little dated rather than polished — several reviewers describe them as "cabins" in the literal sense, comfortable and clean enough for a road-trip stop rather than a boutique stay, though a few guests have flagged rooms that felt rundown or under-maintained. With 821 reviews and a 4.4 rating, the overall read is a reliable budget option with some unevenness cabin to cabin.

  • Individual cabins with private parking at each door
  • Pet-friendly, with dog-walking access right behind the property
  • About 80 miles from the North Rim entrance via Hwy 89A/67
  • Also convenient for Zion, Bryce Canyon, and the Vermilion Cliffs area

Book ahead in peak summer and fall — Kanab fills up fast as the main regional hub for North Rim visitors.

Phenomenal property, absolutely amazing owners. It was an enjoyable night to sit there and watch the new Spider-Man with the mountains. In the background m the actual weather on my skin, I couldn't have axe for a better stay. Cabin 231 was amazing 👏 🤩 😍 🙌🏽

My husband and I were passing through the area on our road trip. The cabin we stayed in appeared nice from the outside. Once we got inside we discovered it was dirty, the bathroom ceiling had mold on it, and baseboards were bubbled up from water damage from what seemed like the toilet. Cabins seem like they used to be nice but are very poorly maintained. They are an affordable alternative so I didn’t expect luxury, but I did expect it to be clean at bare minimum. We were only in the area for 1 night which is why we didn’t book elsewhere after we arrived. When I went to check out, the guy working at the front had his feet on the desk which wasn’t a good impression. The only good thing is the view was fantastic. We would not stay here again and I unfortunately can’t recommend it.

Perfect for a family of eight thanks to the three queen beds in one cabin. Plus, you can park your vehicle right outside the door. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi is weak and unreliable, with devices constantly disconnecting.
