About

Red Feather Lodge sits right on AZ-64 in Grand Canyon Village, close enough to the South Rim entrance that guests routinely call it the most convenient base for exploring the park without paying in-park lodging rates. It's an understated, no-frills hotel — but with a 4.2 rating across more than 3,600 reviews, it's earned a loyal following, including guests who say they've been coming back for two decades.

What guests notice

Reviewers consistently point to clean, spacious, quiet rooms and a front desk staff that answers around the clock. There's a seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub, free coffee and tea available at all hours, and Wi-Fi throughout. A few restaurants are within walking distance, so you're not stuck driving after a long day on the rim. Breakfast offerings get mixed mentions in reviews — some guests describe a buffet, others just the coffee station — so it's worth confirming what's currently included when you book.

Good to know

  • Location: 300 AZ-64, Grand Canyon Village — minutes from the park entrance
  • Amenities: seasonal pool, hot tub, free coffee/tea, Wi-Fi
  • Rating: 4.2 stars from 3,600+ Google reviews

It won't compete with the historic rim-side lodges on atmosphere, but for travelers who just need a clean, reliable, well-located room near the South Rim, it's a solid, budget-friendly pick — and one that fills up during peak season like everything else near the park, so book ahead.

First let me say this lodge was very unexpected, but in an amazingly great way. First we needed a place to stay by the Grand Canyon. It is like 6 miles to the visitor center. We went out to watch the sunset..which was beautiful. But back to the lodge we had booked a motel room but at check in we were given a room in the hotel, which was unexpected but appreciated. Staff was very friendly and explained to us nonlocals about the possibility of the power being turned off due the weather. They do have a back up generator in these cases. This was the nicest hotels we stayed at on our 8 day vacation (we mostly stayed at Marriotts). Beds were very comfy and nice large bathroom to get ready in, the rooms were also very large. This is definitely a place I would stay again and highly recommend. They do not have breakfast, but that was fine with us. They do have a 10% cpn off to 2 diff restaurants that serve breakfast. We ate at Foodies Club for dinner...highly recommend. Side note: we did see an elk outside the hotel just grazing, we stayed in the car lol.

Great value for money, and nice staff. Also, huge shoutout for having generators that kept power on during the recent outage. Many other travelers I talked to went the day/night without!

Navajo managed. Close to the Grand Canyon. Well maintained rooms. Freindly and helpful front desk. Close to a few eateries. Ample parking. Value for money and a pleasant stay.
