Redrock Country Inn
Rustic rooms in a casual motel offering an outdoor pool, plus free Wi-Fi & continental breakfast.
About
Redrock Country Inn is a no-frills budget motel in downtown Kanab, about 80 miles from the North Rim and an easy walk from the town's restaurants and shops. Rooms are basic — older motel construction, some with exposed concrete floors that reviewers call more industrial than unfinished — but consistently described as clean, with comfortable beds for the price. An outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi, and continental breakfast are included.
What to expect
- Rustic, simple rooms rather than a polished chain-motel feel
- Reviewers flag inconsistent hot water at times, so don't expect a long, hot shower to be a sure thing
- Walking distance to Kanab's downtown restaurants and shops
- Straightforward, budget-friendly rates that undercut most nearby hotels
This is a place people book for value and location, not luxury — several reviewers specifically call it a good one-night stop when passing through to or from the Grand Canyon or Zion. The front desk gets credit for being helpful and accommodating even on short notice. If you're the type who wants a reliable place to crash before an early start toward the North Rim and doesn't mind a bare-bones room, it does the job; if hot water and polish matter more than price, Kanab has fuller-service options nearby.

Truly the definition of you get what you pay for. Cheap is what I was aiming for, a place to sleep and shower. The rooms were in need of upkeep. I stayed in room 16 for a weekend. The good: the room has a working heater, there wasn't an odd smell, there was a tv, a micro wave and a mini fridge for use, the shower water heater up timely instead of taking a long while, no plumbing problems, complimentary shampoo and body soap. The bad: uncomfortable bed, the lamp shades were falling apart, only one available plug for charging devices, (unless you use the bathroom plug), the curtains were ripped so sunlight showed through at sunrise, and exposed electrical cords along the wall and ceiling. There is a pool available in the summer time, it's pet friendly, there are restaurants within walking distance and benches for sitting outside to have a smoke.

Not a bad small motel although the only amenities in the room was the refrigerator and the microwave no coffee machines and the pool was ice cold

The price was great! It is an old motel but was clean [I always wear footwear as carpets are never really clean]. Bed was more comfortable than I expected for the price we paid. Water took a long time to get warm, but shower stall was decent.
